Acer tataricum ssp. ginnala 'Ruby Slippers' is commonly referred to as Ruby Slippers Amur Maple. It is a low branched, upright spreading to rounded deciduous tree with a uniform, straight trunk. It features rich green, finely textured foliage that turns bright red in fall. Its bright red fruits (samaras) are quite showy in early summer and persist until fall.
Ruby Slippers Amur Maple is hardy, adaptable and has a moderate growth habit. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a specimen tree and is quite popular for its bright red fall color.
